ottolenghi: the cookbook

December 6, 2009

My sister Helen lives in Islington in London – just around the corner from Ottolenghi”Ottolenghi is one of the most iconic and dynamic restaurants in the country. Its unique blend of exquisite, fresh food, abundantly presented in a cutting-edge, elegant environment, has imaginatively redefined people’s dining expectations…”

Now I haven’t yet had the pleasure of accompanying Helen to sample the delights that Ottolenghi has to offer, i have however been salivating over the cookbook for the past year! Helen sent one to our mother sometime during the year and it has the most fabulous middle eastern recipes in it. If you’re looking for something a bit different from all the Maggie Beer, Jamie Oliver and Surfing the Menu style cookbooks to give (or request!) as a gift for Christmas this is a great one to choose! It was a highly anticipated book in the UK as the restaurants have a cult-like following! The‘’baking’ section alone is amazing and I’ve been meaning to borrow mums book to give some recipes a try (the brownies and meringues look soooo good!).

Amazon have it here…. as do Boffins Bookshop in Perth
