I first heard of Dane Richardson a few years ago when his small “Dane Design” signpost was erected in front of a vacant block down the road from my parents home in Amherst Street, Fremantle. As the months followed we all watched in wonder as a totally unique and interesting house was constructed! Some of the main elements were a large ‘frame’ structure almost right on the street which created a private courtyard space which linked beautifully to the house. The building material is predominantly a dark stained timber cladding which makes for a striking exterior. Skip forward and the house is now surrounded by shady green trees and foliage and looks even more fantastic than back then. This is House 7.

The following images are of a much bigger home (House 11) Dane designed in Dunsbourough (south-west WA) along the same lines as the Fremantle home. It really showcases what a fantastic, inspiring and original Architect he is. Check out the Gallery on his website for some more gorgeous homes.
