winter cottage

May 5, 2010

We have been travelling down in the south west of WA a lot in the last year, every so often Jeremy and I daydream about a small (yet interesting & original) house on a hill, with a beautiful view overlooking green farmland interspersed with native bush. The house would be an example of great ESD and utilize our combined knowledge of passive solar design and sustainable architecture. Well, we found our dream house one short weekend trip to Balingup when we drove from Bridgetown to Nannup… there along the winding and gorgeous road we saw it jutting out from the hillside, framed by tall gum trees… and later found out the house is called ‘The Winter Cottage’ designed by Joe Chindarsi of Chindarsi Architects for his father.
